Thanksgiving (VERY late!)

We spent a couple of days with my family for Thanksgiving this year and it was a sweet time. I forgot to bring my good camera, so these are mostly just silly pictures from my phone, but sometimes they are the sweetest!

One of my favorite things about Thanksgiving with my family is that my daddy always makes duck gumbo. Sometimes we can sweet-talk him into making it other times during the year if he has any ducks, but we always, ALWAYS have duck gumbo on Thanksgiving! Another one of my very favorite things is how much my kids enjoy my sister's kids! There is a big age difference between my sister's youngest and my oldest, but for whatever reason they all play together so well and seem to enjoy each other's company. I hope they grow up being buddies for life, even with the big age gap. Cousins are really the best!
We mostly just hung out and ate this trip, but the highlight for Kendall was her first hunting trip with her daddy. (Maybe I should say it was a highlight for Evan, too!) They spent about an hour in the woods together and while they didn't see anything but "bugs and squirrels" (Kendall's words), she said hunting was fun. I am pretty sure she just enjoyed having her daddy to herself for a little while!

The day after Thanksgiving was spent with Evan's parents watching the Arkansas game. Evan's dad was putting down some flooring for his sister at her house, so we left the girls with his mom and dad for the night there. They brought the girls back to us the next day then we all went to pick out our Christmas tree the next day. We enjoyed our time with them as well!
