Thunder Over Louisville

Everyone knows what Louisville is best known for--The Kentucky Derby! About three weeks before Derby weekend, the Kentucky Derby Festival begins with a huge fireworks display called Thunder Over Louisville. It's an all day event that takes place down by the river. This is our third year to live in Louisville during Derby season, but our first time to attend Thunder.

My friend Abby works at Jewish Hospital and invited all three of us to join her family for the fun. The top floor of Jewish Hospital's parking garage is shut down and Abby was able to score tickets for us to watch the fireworks from there.

It was super cold!!!

The fireworks were beautiful--all sorts of shapes and colors!

Kendall enjoying the show with her Daddy!

We had fun and are glad to say we've enjoyed something Louisville is known for--but didn't enjoy sitting in traffic for two hours trying to get home! Made for a very long night! Thankfully, Kendall fell asleep in the car and took a 3+ hour nap on Sunday.

Thanks, Abby, Andrew and Christian for letting us be your guests! We appreciate you!
