Our little guppy-part-dolphin!

Over the last two weeks, we've spent the latter part of our morning at swimming lessons for the big sister. What great fun! I cannot say enough fabulous things about these lessons...HSU's swim coach is the director for the program; his family and swim team teach the lessons. Incredibly organized and just an absolute blast!

Kendall LOVES the water. She's cautious, but never afraid. She's grown so much over the last couple of weeks in her skills and we are so proud of her. Kind of funny--on the very first day of lessons, I asked the director what I could expect from her by the end of the session. He told me that she would probably jumping off the diving board and swimming to the side...then he noticed she was in a group of students that were barely putting their face in the water. (And, all boys at that!) Before we left that day, he told me Kendall was going to move up with the bigger kids...most were 8 and 9 year olds. Kendall held her own with that crew and the bigger girls in the group loved playing mother to her. Really, such a sweet time and so fun to watch!

Today the kids took a skills test, and Kendall ended swimming lessons as a full "guppy and part dolphin" with a certificate to prove it. Her instructor tried to push her to full dolphin, but Kendall didn't feel like she could swim the distance he was asking, so he didn't push her.

We celebrated with shaved ice after rest time!

And, because real time is so much better than pictures in this case, here is a video of Kendall jumping off the diving board:

Looking forward to lots more fun in the water this summer!
