We love Fayetteville!

Our week in Fayetteville is coming to a close. Sad times. What a great week, but as always, FLOWN BY! Kendall, Arden, and I are headed south tomorrow to spend some time with my family, so I decided I would unload the memory card and go ahead and post some favorites from the week.

This is our attempt at a "family of four" picture. Notice, Arden isn't interested! But the girls looked so precious in their matching outfits. Kendall was so excited to finally wear this dress and match her little sister!

Evan's grandmother is a 4th of July baby, so we celebrated her birthday on Sunday afternoon. It was supposed to be a family party, but she invited ALL her friends from the rehab center. Too funny! Thankfully, there was enough cake and ice cream to share.

Evan's sister and her family joined us for a few days. It was great to see them and for the cousins to play together.

We joined Scottie, Allyce, Henry, and some of the youth kids in the church parking lot for fireworks. This was a little more eventful than any of us planned. Kendall was flipping out because of Maggie (The J's dog), Arden and Colin were flipping out because of the noise, and Graham just wanted to get in on the action. It was kind-of crazy--especially when one of the fireworks didn't go the direction it was supposed to go and ended up around my legs! The kids did enjoy the sparklers and the highlight for me was watching the lantern float through the sky!

Kendall was gifted with a Rapunzel dress and wig from her Nana and PawPaw. She has pretty-much worn 24/7 since we've been here. The wig is already about as ratty as it can be and Nana had to sew up the dress in several places this afternoon!
We've enjoyed some lazy mornings around here. Evan and I were able to sleep until 8 on a couple of occasions. NICE! One morning, Kendall and PawPaw even made pancakes together. (Mimi and Gran, if you read, I did not partake. Kendall kept saying, "Mommy, why don't you like pancakes?!")

We swam several times this week. PawPaw cleaned out the hot tub so the kids could use it like a pool, and we also swam at the water park and Scottie and Allyce's. Kendall's swimming lessons have certainly paid off, as she is quite the little fish! No floaties, jumping off the side, sticking her head under water (and staying!), and as brave as can be. So proud!

We spent some precious time with friends this week, too! Evan golfed with Brian, fished with Scottie, and spent some good, quality time with his dad. I enjoyed a short but sweet visit with my Chi-O big sis, Jill, as well as lunch and swimming with several other dear friends.

And of course, Kendall went without a nap every day and went to bed kicking and screaming every night. Literally. How funny that less than five minutes after putting her to bed every evening, we found her like this:

I so wish we could have been in Fay the same week as you all! I'm so glad you all had a great time. I now Barry and Shelia must have loved having you.
